We chose Dave Darling as our contractor to finish our basement and, months later, are still confident it was the best decision.  We learned of Dave’s strong reputation and saw other jobs he’d done through two of our neighbors.  In our experience, Dave listened to what we were looking for, provided suggestions, and incorporated our ideas to come up with the final design.  

He allowed us to purchase fixtures through local home improvement stores or go through companies he had an affiliation and discount with, whichever we preferred.  In the bathroom, we were very specific about the kind of countertop we wanted.  We were frustrated to find that all three of the local home improvement stores either could not design the countertop as we wanted or could do it only for a premium price.  When we talked to Dave about this, he said he could build the countertop himself, which he did; and, it saved us time and money we would have spent going through a retailer.  Plus, it is done perfectly, as is the cabinetry Dave created.  

The workers Dave surrounds himself with were also great.  They were polite, considerate, and always said “Hi” to our two-year old son who was full of “HI’s” each time they came into the house.  The job was completed sooner than we anticipated and the craftsmanship meets our high standards.  Since completion of our basement, we cannot say enough good things about Dave and have referred him to friends and co-workers seeking a remodeling /construction company.  Everything Dave said he would do, he did; and, in his line of work, it’s been our experience that he is the exception, not the norm.
